Staying at our chosen hotel in Sheffield (directly accessed from London & Leeds on the train), chill out, take part and relax with a weekend of easy to medium walking activities in the neighbouring Peak District.
An example itinerary would start in the bustling city of Sheffield on the Friday night, meeting new friends over dinner. Saturday starts with a good breakfast before heading into the Peak District National Park for the chosen walk, which may vary on the aims & ability of the group and prevailing weather conditions. After a full day in the gr8 outdoors you return to your accommodation to a nice warm shower, change of clothes and evening dinner. Sunday morning after breakfast you are able to make your own way home with we hope some gr8 memories.
An example walk would be one our favourites, the Edale Skyline Route: from Edale railway station we head towards the base of the Kinder Scout plateau and the start (or finish) of the Pennine Way (England’s first long distance footpath). Following this famous Way westwards, we wander up the Edale Valley on the well trodden path to Upper Booth, where we can look up the valley to Jacobs Ladder. We turn southwards across the valley, starting the steady walk up the wide Chapel Gate track to reach the bridleway that runs along the spectacular east/west ridgeline that forms part of the famous 'Skyline' walk. From our lofty perch, as we walk eastwards across Lords Seat and onto the Iron Fort of Mam Tor (the Shivering Mountain), panoramic views of both the Edale and Castleton valleys unfold. Passing the viewpoint at Hollins Cross we take in the views up valley from Back Tor, before heading leisurely back into the Edale valley and returning to our start point.
This example walk can be appropriate for beginners/intermediate walkers, taking approximately 4-6hours, with plenty of rest stops to take in the views.

Edale station is on the trainline connecting Sheffield and Manchester mainline stations (running every hour). Summer bus services also run out of both city centres via Hope every 2hours. Edale can also be reached by car, 50minutes from Sheffield, 1hour from Manchester.
These weekends are designed to appeal to everyone. For that reason kit requirements are kept to the minimum. So, for all the above activities we recommend all clients come prepared with the appropriate clothing for the gr8 outdoors and their activities, noting we can guarantee a good time but not the vagaries of the great British weather! We have a recommended kit list on our website and this will be included in our confirmation letter to you.
